BMW and the hydrogen car and the subsidy
There are currently no more public hydrogen filling stations in Austria, as OMV has ceased operations at all locations. Vienna is inaccessible.
The hydrogen car was pure despair over the lead-acid battery and other inadequate battery technologies. I myself had bad experiences with lead batteries to power my notebook on the road from 1994 to 2010 and with electric scooters from 2006 to 2009.
Let's imagine a Tesla Y with a lead battery. Instead of 60 kWh lithium iron phosphate or 75 kWh lithium cobalt, only 15 kWh lead battery. The withdrawal of 30 kW would already be extreme lead battery abuse. I have experience with this. When I started my electric moped test in 2006, it said 300 charging cycles. Well, 300 charging cycles times 60 km is 18,000 km. Treated with care, they will certainly last 20,000 km.
When the range dropped dramatically after just 5,000 km, I had to come up with the following: the 300 charging cycles refer to charging and discharging with C=0.2, i.e. discharging or charging the 2 kWh battery pack with a maximum of 400 watts. 4 kW was the extreme lead battery abuse. As a result, only 1/4 of the service life.

2005 first severe criticism
|
In 2005, I wrote my first serious criticism of the hydrogen car.
At that time, one kWh of lithium batteries cost €1,500 and USGS stated the world reserves at 13 million tons.
Today we are already below €100/kWh and USGS puts the world reserves at 115 million tons.
Sodium is available like salt in the sea, mass production of sodium batteries is ramping up, 10 €/kWh at cell level is considered possible.
That was a chapter heading in my first book "Rise of the Solar Age". 5 billion electric cars for 10 billion people is no problem, but 5 billion cars with combustion engines is not. But what about the hydrogen car?
5 billion × 160 Wh per km × 16,000 km per year = 12,800 TWh. After 58,079 km, I have enough experience with consumption. One kg of hydrogen has a calorific value of 39.3 kWh. If electrolysis is 80% efficient, then 39.3 / 0.8 = 49.125 kWh. I have to realize that I always calculate too hydrogen-friendly, just so that nobody can claim that I want to calculate hydrogen badly. So I asked Grok: 75 to 85 kWh/kg if the hydrogen is transported to the filling station in liquefied form. If you calculate 1 kg of hydrogen for 100 km:
5 billion × 800 Wh per km × 16,000 km per year = 64,000 TWh. That is 51,200 TWh more. That is 1.7 times more electricity than the world produces today. With this amount of electricity, almost 1.1 ppm of CO2 can be filtered out of the atmosphere and split into C and O.

Closing hydrogen filling stations
|
There are currently no more public hydrogen filling stations in Austria, as OMV has ceased operations at all locations. Vienna is out of reach for a German hydrogen driver. From my home in St. Leonhard, there are more fast-charging stations within a 2 km radius than there are hydrogen filling stations within a 200 km radius. There are only around Munich.
In California, hydrogen is available for US$ 36 per kg. For comparison, electricity in California costs US$ 0.25 at Tesla Superchargers. 16 kWh of electricity corresponds to about 1 kg of hydrogen, which is based on a comparison of consumption and the efficiency of the fuel cell. This compares to US$ 4 for an electric car and US$ 36 for a fuel cell car to drive 100 km.
If you want to get from Los Angeles to San Francisco, missing Harris Ranch is pretty tragic. Las Vegas is out of reach.

Why am I even writing this? 273 million reasons
|
This newsletter is like slaughtering a dead horse, isn't it? No normal person would still invest in the hydrogen car. But Bavaria is investing €273 million in a new hydrogen car from BMW.
Extreme nonsense is an indicator of a declining society.

About a self-proclaimed solar pope
|
He blocked me on X years ago. After all, I questioned the infallibility of this self-proclaimed solar pope. Of course, he has consistently refused to discuss my solutions to the energy transition. Today I saw one of his latest posts on X because someone shared it as a picture.
Now the solar pope has come up with a formula for converting CO2 emissions and climate deaths.
Wow, now we can convert the 1.7 billion tons of additional CO2 emissions by 2030 due to the shutdown of German nuclear power plants into climate deaths! It's 1,700,000. According to the calculation, the global CO2 emissions of 2 years correspond to all the deaths in World War II.

The planetary restoration mentality
|
Planetary cleanup back to 350 ppm CO2 means about 47,000 TWh of electricity to filter 1 ppm CO2 from the atmosphere and recycle it into carbon and oxygen. Who can afford that? Only a rich human race, 10 billion people in prosperity can do it. One million km² of energy-optimized settlement areas alone should contribute 150,000 TWh for the necessary electricity for world-wide prosperity and planetary restoration.

GEMINI next Generation AG will prove the contrary
|
It's not about whether the shares will be worth 100 times or 1000 times more in 20 years' time or whether they will only be worth a few cents. It's about the future of us all. Will there be a big showdown between eco-fascism and yesterday's fossils, or will it be possible to overcome the deep divisions in society and inspire supporters of both sides to work towards a great new goal?
Global prosperity and planetary restoration instead of saving, restricting, renouncing and climate catastrophe or peak oil and a little more climate catastrophe. Both sides must be convinced that they have no solution that is even remotely viable.
On the one hand, it must be shown that net-zero emissions are a completely inadequate target and that the goal must instead be a planetary clean-up back to 350 ppm CO2. The other side must be shown that solar power enables a higher standard of living than fossil energy.
It's about survival! The social situation in 2025 compared to 2005, extrapolated to 2045, makes for a horror world! If we are successful and your shares are worth 100 times more, this is just an addition to all the other achievements.
One new shareholder said "Me with my very modest investment", but €400 times €1,000 is also €400,000 for all investments up to the creation of the prototype.
There is a reward program for recommending the share to others. Two of the new shareholders have become shareholders through this reward program.
Here are the details.

GEMINI shares: time to buy - milestones
|
The situation has changed fundamentally since this company visited Slovakia. Necessary investment volume reduced by around 90%. Time to marketable product shortened by around one year. The 90% reduction in investment volume also means that each shareholder has significantly more shares.
The share price is now lifted towards our targets at each milestone. These milestones can happen in all areas: Financial, new shareholders, new opportunities to attract new shareholders. Contracts to build the prototype, more houses and settlements. Cooperations for realization. Purchase, arrival and testing of important technical components. |
