Power outage in Spain

The way the power grid is operated is reminiscent of lumberjacks in earlier centuries: the daredevil men who slid downhill with their sledges loaded with 2 tons of wood.

After all these years of criticism of the madness of expanding renewable energy without storage, how could the title of my newsletter today have been any different?

The way the power grid is operated is reminiscent of lumberjacks in earlier centuries: the daredevil men who slid downhill with their sledges loaded with 2 tons of wood. What does 80 kg of man do when 2 tons of sledge with wood gets out of control? That was full risk for the energy supply with firewood.

Here is an article about transporting wood with sledges.

  My demands March 2008

Here is my article from March 2008. Minor corrections are necessary in the interpretation, but essentially exactly the same requirements today as in 2008.

I researched this topic for years by searching for "needs-based grid feed-in". Until around 2020, my articles dominated the first page of search results. How could such an important topic be so neglected?

And at 11 a.m. the memory is full

I was at an exhibition in Salzburg in 2019 at the stand of an electricity storage provider. "When the storage system is full at 11:00, it will be fed into the grid" was the deeply shocking statement from a salesman. The exact opposite of a demand-oriented grid feed-in. If everyone did that? The power grid would collapse!

October 2024 I heard exactly the same nonsense at the ENLIT trade fair in Milan. With prices per kWh, an industry that only thinks of itself, how to rip off customers, that lacks any approach to the common good.

Protocols for black start with batteries

On January 8, 2021, I spoke to Herbert Saurugg - international blackout and crisis preparedness expert for the first time. It was about future-proofing the inverters for the GEMINI next generation house. Inverters may only feed into the grid if the grid is available. The grid could be switched off because a service technician is at work.

Do protocols exist or are protocols in preparation so that individual cells, i.e. everything connected to a single medium-voltage transformer, can be powered up in the event of a grid failure? The idea is that there are enough photovoltaics and batteries in the supply area of a medium-voltage transformer for such an operation. At the site in Unken, 5 GEMINI next generation houses with around 200 kW of photovoltaics and 600 kWh of batteries would be planned. There is a 240 kVA transformer on the north-western boundary of the property.

In the event of a blackout like the one in Spain, the 5 GEMINI houses could have taken over the supply to a limited extent because only 5 x 20 kW grid connections are planned. But this requires protocols on how and under what circumstances a blackout of a supply area can occur. Inverters must have this protocol implemented. In other words, never feed into a de-energized grid unless the conditions precisely defined in the protocol for "black start of a medium-voltage transformer supply area" occur.

In this case, the medium-voltage transformer would have to be disconnected from the medium-voltage grid. When the general power grid starts up again, this island must then be synchronized with the rest of the grid. Of course, I called Mr. Saurugg and other experts again after the blackout in Spain: It's 4 years later and still no protocol for the black start of the power grid with decentralized electricity storage has been developed or at least planning for it has been started.

Incredible excuses instead of planning for the future

"Rare atmospheric conditions" was the first nonsense statement about the power outage. Why did the woodcutter have a fatal accident with his sledge? A rare case of black ice, causing him to be crushed between a wall and the wood behind him on the sled.

Instead of nonsensical attempts at appeasement, comprehensive planning is needed on how to avoid such blackouts in the future. 3 million GEMINI next generation homes could start the entire German power grid, but only if there is a protocol for this process and the inverters for the grid connection are equipped with it in all GEMINI homes.

Similarly, 6 million electric cars with 11 kW connections could start the entire German power grid, but only on the condition that a protocol for this process exists and is implemented in these cars. How about a registration requirement from 2035 "The car must be Power to Grid capable and master the power grid black start protocol".

Scientific initiative instead of helpless appeasement

The fans of renewable energy must finally realize that they cannot continue to pester the rest of the population with unbearable arrogance and incompetence. Clear answers to this disaster are required. Otherwise I will have to call these fans of renewable energy the worst enemies of renewable energy.

  Thinkpad L14 Gen 4

My Thinkpad L14 Gen 2 has unfortunately died. It has been replaced by a Gen 4. Why Thinkpad again?
  • Battery charging is adjustable. It is unbearable to have to watch helplessly as other notebooks ruin their batteries by constantly charging them to 100%. 95% after almost 2 years, notebooks that always charge to 100% can already be below 80%.
  • USB-C PD power supply. This is intelligence in the power supply. There is a protocol where the power supplier and notebook communicate first. For example, USB-C connection in the Tesla Y: "I can supply 5 or 9 volts with 3 amps". Notebook "I choose the 9 volt 3 amp variant".
  • Full keyboard.
  • Keyboard can be easily replaced from the top. I gave up my 2016 ACER and 2021 ASUS notebook due to damage to the keyboard. You have to completely disassemble them to change the keyboard from the bottom.

  The planetary restoration mentality

Planetary cleanup back to 350 ppm CO2 means about 47,000 TWh of electricity to filter 1 ppm CO2 from the atmosphere and recycle it into carbon and oxygen. Who can afford that? Only a rich human race, 10 billion people in prosperity can do it. One million km² of energy-optimized settlement areas alone should contribute 150,000 TWh for the necessary electricity for world-wide prosperity and planetary restoration.

GEMINI next Generation AG will prove the contrary

It's not about whether the shares will be worth 10 times or 100 times more in 20 years' time or whether they will only be worth a few cents. It's about the future of us all. Will there be a big showdown between eco-fascism and yesterday's fossils, or will it be possible to overcome the deep divisions in society and inspire supporters of both sides to work towards a great new goal?

Global prosperity and planetary restoration instead of saving, restricting, renouncing and climate catastrophe or peak oil and a little more climate catastrophe. Both sides must be convinced that they have no solution that is even remotely viable.

On the one hand, it must be shown that net-zero emissions are a completely inadequate target and that the goal must instead be a planetary clean-up back to 350 ppm CO2. The other side must be shown that solar power enables a higher standard of living than fossil energy.

It's about survival! The social situation in 2025 compared to 2005, extrapolated to 2045, makes for a horror world! If we are successful and your shares are worth 100 times more, this is just an addition to all the other achievements.

One new shareholder said, "Me with my very modest investment", but €4,000 times €1,000 is also €4 million for all investments up to the opening of the settlement in Unken as a starting point for global expansion.

There is a reward program for recommending the share to others. Two of the new shareholders have become shareholders through this reward program.

Here are the details.

  GEMINI shares: time to buy

The situation has changed fundamentally since this company visited Slovakia. Necessary investment volume reduced by around 90%. Time to marketable product shortened by around one year. The 90% reduction in investment volume also means that each shareholder has significantly more shares.
